The Breaktime Bakery is a unique entrepreneurship program that was started in the summer of 2006. For seven weeks, 6th-8th grade students are taught basic job skills that increase their chances of succeeding in the work place. Students are taught the importance of showing up on time, having good hygiene, maintain the supplies needed to run a business, and people skills. Furthermore, they are taught how to work hard while having fun. At the end of the summer, most students have mastered money/goods exchange, multi- tasking, and quality control. We limit this program to twelve students so that we can focus on each individual and make sure that each young person succeeds.

Where you come in. The Breaktime Bakery only works because of people like you. This summer we are open for business Monday – Thursday, June 18 – August 1, from 12:30 to 2:00PM. You can support the Breaktime Bakery by clicking on the order link and purchasing some amazing baked goods from us. Our prices are very competitive and we’re pretty sure that once you taste what we make, you’ll find yourself coming back time and time again. You’ll pay for the baked goods at the store with cash, check or credit card.

You can track our progress throughout the summer by following the Bakery Blog. This blog will be an open space for our bakers, Leaders In Training, and others to post about their journey.
